They are obliged to pass an English language exam at the lower- intermediate level (BAN3) by the end of their Bachelor's programme.

More advanced second-year students who do not need to study English for four semesters to pass the exam BAN3 (or BAN4), and who would like to continue their language studies, should start studying a higher level of English (two-semester specialized courses) or a second language (German, Russian, Spanish - two-semester courses).
    2. The third-year students are obliged to pass one English language exam for three credits by the end of their Bachelor's programme. The Department of Languages also offers a specialized English language course for students in the doctoral study programme at FEEC and FIT. Students can only register in it on the condition that their knowledge of English is at least at the intermediate level.

Each language course finishes with a semester test and an exam. The detailed information on individual language courses is available in the corresponding cards of subjects in the Information System of FEEC.

Registration in language courses is done electronically in the Information System of FEEC. The courses are held in the classrooms of the Department of Languages at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, Brno University of Technology, Technická 3058/10, 616 00 Brno.

  1. The newly established Section of Education and Psychology offers a "Complementary Study Programme in Education for University Graduates and Vocational Education Teachers". The programme is for graduates of secondary schools and universities without specialization in education who aspire to teach at secondary schools. The aim of the programme is to provide students with comprehensive instruction in education and educational qualification to teach technical and practical subjects at secondary schools. Within the full-time study programme, the students of FEEC and FIT can obtain "The Certificate of Educational Competence" for secondary schools.

The programme consists of two parts:
Part I - The Basic Subjects - includes subjects which are a part of the study programmes of the faculties. These subjects are provided free of charge (see FEEC ordinance)
Part II - Lifelong learning - includes subjects from the area of sociology and school management, thesis elaboration and its defence at the final examination. This part of the study programme is offered within lifelong learning and so it is covered by the students (see detailed information).
